Just be funny, is about two male comedians, both dealing with mental health and substance issues. Our main comedian, Charlie Dunnam, is a 57 year old comeback comedian after dealing with chronic depression and alcholic abuse. When preparing for his first day back on tour, he meets his opener, a 25 year old Thomas Goldman. Thomas also has a history of chronic depression, meeting him in his car just released from the hospital. As the two find out that they're not to far off from each other, they both are living different lives.
